Breaking News -Pending New World Record Non-Typical Whitetail

Luke Brewster arrowed a giant buck November 2nd 2018 in Edgar County Illinois that was officially measured at 320 5/8". The trophy buck is pending panel scoring by and if the score maintains it will be the largest whitetail ever harvested by an archery hunter for the Pope & Young Club as well as the largest whitetail ever harvested by a hunter in the Boone & Crockett club.

Luke had named the deer "Mufasa" and made the perfect 25 yard shot when the buck came in to check a scrape. This was not his first encounter with the buck that he estimated to be 7.5 years old. Last year one of Luke's friends missed the whitetail. Earlier this year Luke had to rush back to Virginia for the birth of his daughter and his trail camera showed that "Mafusa" walked right by his stand.

Michael Beatty currently holds the the Pope & Young record with his 294" Ohio giant shot on November 8th in Greene County. Stephen Tucker holds the current Boone & Crockett record for the largest non-typical whitetail ever harvested by a hunter when he shot a 312" brute on November 7th, 2016 in Sumner County Tennessee with a muzzleloader.

The measurements were done by Tim and Bea Walmsley, Kevin Chapman and Jim Barry. Because of the size of the deer it took 3 hours to measure.
